You can find a list of EMERGENT symptoms, based on the species of pet that you have, here.
In general, animals (especially prey species) are very good at masking signs of illness. By the time they show clinical signs, they are usually quite sick. Preventative care is best!.
It is recommended to have your pets examined by a veterinarian at least once yearly (more frequently if they are seniors or have underlying medical issues).
Tele-consults are an adjunctive service. They are not here to replace a thorough yearly physical veterinary examination.
Veterinarians are busy with seeing hundreds if not thousands of patients a year! During a standard veterinary visit (~20-30 minutes), it's difficult to cover all the preventative medicine topics in much detail. Maybe your veterinarian mentioned that you should brush your dogs teeth? Perhaps your pet needs to loose weight? You just bought a reptile and want to make sure you are providing the perfect environment? Are those vegetables safe to feed to you bunny? Do your bird's droppings look normal? You have a specific concern about your animal and are wondering if this is an issue that should be evaluated by a veterinarian? You just don't know where to begin. You have Googled yourself crazy and are left more confused than when you started. This is where 'Tele-consults' come in. Advice directly from an experienced Veterinarian! Someone with years of schooling, continuing education and practical experience in the veterinary field.
There are two very distinct types of consults offered, please read carefully below:

Telemedicine
These are aimed at preventative medicine topics. They are not intended to diagnose any particular medical condition, but are here to provide sound, personalized Veterinary advice. Sessions can take place over the phone, e-mail, Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. At the conclusion of the session, you will be provided with a written summary/instructions for your reference.
This involves discussion of specific medical issues. *Please note that, per the California Veterinary Medical Board Code of Regulations, Section 2032.1, Veterinary Telemedicine services are limited, i.e. A veterinarian cannot diagnose anything or prescribe any medications without first establishing a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) i.e. A physical exam must first be performed on the patient for all conditions of concern. This can be scheduled at one of the many hospitals where I offer my veterinary services.
